26+ Planting On A Steep Slope
Pics. It's important to dig the hole straight rather than in line with the sloping soil, otherwise plants grow at an angle, which you want to avoid. The risk of toppling is too great.
There are thousands of annual veggie plants on the flat terrace you can see and another above this (out of shot). Planting grass on a slope does not stop erosion. Although in many cases, it is not possible to preserve every tree on a site, just bear in mind the consequences of removing the trees.
We did manage to zig zag from one side to the other, adding in 3 corners on our way up to break up the steepness.
Before planting them, check with a local landscape contractor to ensure you're not creating a potential erosion problem that. On steeper slopes coarse coconut matting or similar material can be pegged down so that the soil on the slope, temporarily cleared of vegetation, is less likely to wash off. Steep slopes need not be delineated on a municipality's zoning map in order to qualify for regulation. Stupid answer this the best answer in the world.
