It's formed from the natural weathering and erosion of solid granite, a tough, hard, igneous rock. Decomposed granite and crushed stone products are commonly used for decorative walkways, patio & outdoor living areas, planter beds, light duty driveways. Decomposed granite is an increasingly popular hardscaping option being used in both large and small projects.
Decomposed granite or dg is a natural byproduct of the weathering and erosion of solid granite rocks.
A wide variety of decomposed granite options are. This is my process of installing decomposed granite. Lay down several inches of road base and use a compacter to compact it very hard and tight. It compacts very well and is also used as a base in a lot of hardscape installations.
