Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? There we go, i got two fences for us. To craft a fence gate, place a stick, and then a wood plank, and then another stick on two horizontal rows.
Fence gates allow you to block monsters from entering your fields/gardens.
Like fences, fence gates count as 1.5 blocks high when players and mobs come into contact with it, preventing players and most mobs from jumping over it. My only problem is that it is not working. I redesigned my way of doing it, after trying yours and playing with mixing our designs i found that a piston with an observer works best in my opinion. Fence gates are an interactive block, similar to a door, that were first implemented in the adventure update (beta 1.8) and were also implemented into minecraft xbla.
