40+ Block Retaining Wall Drainage
Pictures. Whether you are planning to install your own retaining wall or have someone else do it, understanding how drainage should work will ensure the best possible end result. Vent drain through block face.
Top of wall finishes & guards. Sites with poor draining soils or walls over 4 ft. Backfilling the space behind the blocks with.
And thanks to interlocking, stackable blocks, the project can be completed in a weekend.
All retaining walls will use some sort of connection to secure the block courses. The project is a 4 ft retaining wall at it's highest point (not including the footer which adds a little more height). Stand the block upright, face down, then the wider the backfill area filled with gravel or sand, the better your wall will drain. Wood walls cannot stack higher.
