I found this wilsonii olive tree at my local garden center. Olive trees, fruiting and fruitless, descended from mediterranean olives (olea europaea). Fruitless olive varieties have the additional advantage of producing less pollen than fruiting varieties.

That means hardwood cuttings are the preferred. Most olive varieties produce a heavy crop every other year and this helps to even out the fruit production.
